Got Heart?

I started this kit back in early December but never really got back to it. I simply lost my mojo on this one and what you see is what you get. Sorry about that. I hope to get back in the groove soon but lately I've been spending more time on my family tree. After losing my step-mother so unexpectedly, I realized I am not getting youger, nor is the elder part of my family. I no longer have grandparents to go to for family history information and my parents, thank GOD are still here but they can only remember so much about their heritage. I am snatching up that information now so that someday my children will be able to look at this tree I am creating and know where their ancestors came from. I've managed to trace our ancestors back as far as the 1600's, it's amazing!

I have found 5 generations of Alexander's on DH's side of the family that we never knew existed. My youngest son is Alexander, so to find this was quite fantastic. My side of the family (both parents) came from different parts of Italy and it's very difficult because the names have changed from once they came over on the ships from the port in Naples, Italy. I've found a drivers license for a horse drawn buggy for New York City, I believe this was a great grand uncle on my dad's side. My mom's side has halted at her grandfather because I don't have anyone to ask beyond that and my mom hasn't had any contact with the elder part of that side of the family in years. Soooo, that's what I've been up to lately. I did start a kit for my family tree but it's a slow process. I'm creating things as I need them. I will definately share that one when it's ready.

But for now, I have "Got Heart?". Hope you can use some or all of it.

I just wanted to say "Thank You" to everyone for all of your heartfelt thoughts and prayers for my family. It did come as a shock to all of us because she was not ill or had any major health issues. My dad on the other hand does have heart problems which is the first thing that came to my mind when I received that phone call. It has been tough for him as well as my sisters but I think everyone will be ok.

I wanted to get these posted before Christmas but life has other plans for us sometimes. I lost my Step-Mom days before Christmas and have been in Georgia helping family with final arrangements. I worry about my dad the most, he lost his soul mate of 40 years. I am back home and have this sitting on my computer and decided to get it uploaded and share it with you. I'm sure there will be a few Christmas morning photo's that need to be scrapped.

As you will see, some of the items didn't get finished but there is enough there to put things together to make your own cluster's or whatever you'd like.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday with your families.

Halloween Kit Freebie

Wow, I really know how to disappear don't I? Sorry about that. I've got so much going on it's crazy insane. I've been tinkering around with Halloween, trying to come up with a cool theme...I wanted to do something a little different than normal but it didn't work out that way. The papers were taking me forever so I kept closing it and starting over. This is the end result...not quite what I had planned on but it's something. The frames came out pretty cool tho. The mummy was a little difficult but I think he turned out alright, not the best but it'll work.

I've been working on my family tree for the past couple months and this has inspired me to do another heritage themed kit. I just recently started working on that so it may be a while before I'm finished with it. I haven't really done much for the past two months as far as design or scrapping. Birthday Freebie

Well better late than never I suppose. It's been a busy summer so far. I'm still scrapping at night, it helps me wind down after a long crazy day. I've had a few nail biter moments too. Those of you that have read my stories at DDD know about my aunt and that she has Alzheimer's. This disease has progressed slowly for several years (at least the past 20 years) and has now consumed her to the point that my mom could no longer care for her in her home. We have had to put her in a nursing home where she will now get the 24 hour supervision that she requires. The saddest part of this whole thing is that she just celebrated her 60th birthday in May. I think I started talking about it when she was 58 and the disease had become so bad that she could no longer do the things she used to do. We all accepted the fact that she probably wouldn't see her 59th birthday. Now that her 60th birthday has come and gone, I am now more than ever so grateful to have her in my life. She is so frail and wears my old (size 6) jeans and they even look too big for her. When I go visit her I know she doesn't know my face but when I tell her "Aunt Linda, it's me Belle" she glows and has the biggest smile. These are the memories I want to hold on to.

I've also had a scare with my dad. He had a cardiac ablation procedure done at the beginning of June and hasn't been right since. He has lost 45 pounds in the last month and a half, been in the hospital 3 times, visits with many doctors and today FINALLY got an answer! It's his thyroid! Good grief...anyway, hoping he is on his way to recovery. In the midst of all this was my youngest son's birthday, my little sisters birthday, my birthday and my blogs 4th birthday!!!...soooo for Aunt Linda hitting the big 60, my dad making us pull our hair out because he is so stubburn, my son for being the little stinker he is, my little sister who has dropped more "f" bomb's in the last month than I care to admit and of course myself...Happy Birthday!!! Enjoy!

Summer Cooler

The colors in this kit reminded me of summer as a kid. I remember drinking red kool-aid, running around the neighborhood with my sister. We would be three streets over and hear mom call us for dinner. We always got "in trouble" because we would ignore her the first three times she called for us, then by the fourth time, we could hear it in her voice...she was NOT happy, lol. Back then, there wasn't a care in the world. We could play outside all day long and only check in when we were hungry, thirsty or had to use the bathroom. We used to go on family camping trips, hang out by the fire at night roasting marshmallows and telling stories. As a kid, it seemed like we would have a family reunion once a month. We would get the whole family together and go to the lake for a BBQ...I miss those days.

I meant for this kit to be fun and full of color. Not everything came out quite like I had planned but thats ok, it keeps me practicing. When I practice, you get free stuff, lol. Hope you like it. Enjoy!

Country Girls

In my previous post I told you the next kit would be for the girls. Here is Country Girls. Hope you like it. I'm working on a birthday kit for my son's 11th birthday. I've got a ton of things going on in May so I hope to be able to get it done. I've also started a "summer" themed kit but it's not turning out quite like I had planned. I'll keep playing around with it and see what I can come up with. Aside from my youngest son having a birthday next month, my oldest son is graduating high school this June. Needless to say, I've got more things to do than I have the time to do it in.

February Freebie~Be Mine

I am actually working on two kits with a Valentine theme. This is the first one completed. There are 41 elements, 17 papers and a full set of upper and lowercase alpha (no numbers or symbols). I had a lot of fun with this color palette and could have kept going but I knew it was time to move on. Once the 2nd kit is finished you may notice the colors are very similar. I am shooting for a more romantic feel to the 2nd one, more "grown up" I guess you could say. Well here is the kit, available for one week only. New Monthly Download and a Halloween Freebie

I'm really late getting this up this month so this is going to be a really short post with lots of previews.
First I have the monthly download kit available at Digital Divas Designs called "Legacy".

I wanted to do something that had to do with family for November because thats when signs of the approaching holidays start appearing everywhere and the time when we all start thinking about family gatherings and such. I know there will be many kits out there about being thankful and turkeys so I wanted to try my best to do something a little different. I hope you all will enjoy it. It's time for change...

in seasons that is. It's that time of year when all the colors of nature start to show. That's one of the things I miss about living up north. In the south, we go from green to brown. No pretty colors on the trees and the grass starts to die off and we are left with sand and dirt. Now that I've painted such a lovely picture of autumn in the south....

Here is my latest creation, "Everlasting Autumn". When I started working on this (over a month ago) I wasn't sure where I wanted to take it. I knew the colors screamed AUTUMN but I wasn't quite ready to do that yet since it's still 90+ degrees outside. But in the end...autumn won.

"Tutti-Frutti Summer"

Get ready! This one is a biggie! I took the colors from my "Gumdrops" kit (again) and created something huge. I started creating this back in June and worked on it little by little over the past two months. What I have come up with is over 200mb of summer! You could probably scrap your entire summer with this one kit, LOL. It's got a little bit of everything you need to make a great scrap page. There are a ton of bright colored flowers, butterflies, dragonflies, popsicles, ribbons, bows, buttons, brads and a few other elements I'm not exactly sure what they are but I'm sure they will fit somewhere. And of course the papers. I also have two lowercase alpha that didn't make it into the preview.

Of course you will have to log in the forum over at Digital Divas Designs to collect your pieces. If you don't want to wait, you can always purchase the kit from my store at Scrapdebris. Each part of the kit will be for sale separately for $1 each. The alpha are included in part one and part four.

A new month comes a new kit. For July I decided to do something for those "beachy" pictures you might have lying around. Living in Florida, the beach is really the last place I want to go. It is very pretty but also very crowded, especially this time of year. "Sun Kissed" Freebie

I have a new kit ready for the daily download (or should I call it 'weekly download'). I post part of the kit once a week in the forum at Digital Divas Designs, the links will remain throughout the month. The full kit contains 52 elements, 31 papers and an uppercase alpha.

I've been quite busy in the creating department...I found myself working on several kits at a time. I can't say that I'm very good at it because I'm not completely happy with how they turned out. When I get bored working with the colors that's usually a sign that the kit will not turn out well. But like I always say...somebody will use it, so why toss it. I've got a kit done for Fathers Day and July 4th (no surprises there huh?!) as well as a few bragbook pages for both. But you will have to wait a couple more weeks for those, it's too early to post them...they will sit on your hard drives, unused until you have some cool pics to use with them. In My Garden

Here is my newest kit "In My Garden". I had so much fun working with these colors, I could have kept going...I didn't want to over do it though. :o) This one has to be on the list of my favorites that I've made over the past few years. It's really nice when you come across a color palette that just hits the creative button and finally turns it on, kwim? I still think my preview skills need some big improvements but it's getting there (I think).

Since it's iNSD I've got a couple of kits to share with you and best of all...you can snag them for FREE! I was messing around in PSP trying to make some of my own elements. I got as far as some tags, buttons, brads, ribbons and frames. I used some brushes on the papers and a couple CU overlays but the main idea was to see if I could still make anything on my own. I lost a bunch of my own stuff when my external HD decided to no longer work for me...the power comes on but nothing else happens :o( Anyway, here are the kits that were the result of my playtime.

Well I have a Creative Team, finally. I would like to introduce Anita and Jessica. I am eventually going to have a blog for them to post their creations on but in the meantime, I will post their lovely creations here.

My newest kit ready for the daily download over at Digital Divas Designs is "A Touch of Heritage". Initially the colors were screaming to me but as I started creating stuff...the screaming turned to whispers until it was finally silent! So sorry...this is not my best work at all. I almost trashed the whole thing, that's how disappointed in it I really am but ran out of time to create something new for you all and the faithful downloaders in the forum. I promise, the next one will be much brighter and a lot more playful!

This is Some Bunny Loves You, hope you like it. I know there are hundreds of free Easter kits out there to chose from so I hope you find something in this kit you could use to incorporate into some of your Easter pages. These are only a few of the elements that are in the kit, I didn't want to flood the preview so you couldn't see the papers.

We try to stay away from themed kits because there are so many out there to snag for free but it turned out ok. I tried to keep my papers gender neutral so they can be used for any type of scrap pages.

I've already started working on something for March and I will just say this...my part is definately a lot more masculine than this months kit.

I decided to clean out my hard drive and pack away all the old kits I created when I began this adventure.

This was one of my first kits that I made and offered here on my blog back in 2007.
I have removed a few of the papers that just didn't go well with the rest of the kit but for the most part the rest remains the same.

I hope someone will find some use for this one. The elements are a little out dated (who uses those fuzzy fibers anymore, lol) but just maybe...

A Good Read Collab Kit

New Daily Download and a Freebie

Well November is coming to an end so that means it's time for a new Daily Download starting December 1st. We wanted to be a little different than all the other kits out there but it didn't turn out to be that much different, just not your ordinary Christmas colors. We also have decided that this month, since it's such a busy time for everyone, we are going to post one link per week. Every Monday morning I will post a new link for Magical Christmas.

Hi There! Well it's a new month which means a new daily download over at Digital Divas Designs

The CT has put together another fantastic kit to give away as a daily download. You must be a registered member in the forum in order to view the links.

This is what you get by the end of the month, wow! That's a lot of stuff! There's also a huge add on that you get as a posting bonus, but I won't post that here...you've got to go check that out for yourself.

Framing Autumn Freebie

Some of us over at Scrapdebris have put together a collab kit called Framing Autumn. The focus was to be on the frames....but we got a bit carried away. Everyone lives in different time zones so be a little patient if it's not posted yet.

What can I say about Lisa's designs! She amazes me how much she can accomplish in such a short time....it takes me forever...and I still haven't mastered DIP as quite as good as Lisa has.

She is definately a one-of-a-kind designer, Fabulous!

Here is my lil' contribution.....I had a tough time with this one. I'm not sure why because the colors are great....I think I've lost my mojo and can't seem to get it in gear (reason for the lack of freebies you've seen here, lol).

My kit is (or will be soon) in the Scrapdebris store for $1 but I will offer it to you today for FREE! I didn't get my QP uploaded in time and I'm running out the door for work....so my laziness is your gain, lol.

I'm a little behind on my emails! I received an email from A&J Scrap Designs a week ago and just now getting to it. Sorry 'bout that, my Outlook Express stopped working for me so now I'm stuck with Yahoo mail until I can figure out what's going on with OE.
I've been given this great blog award! I've been seeing these all over the net on other blogs and I'm happy I finally got one! I don't blog much so that explains a lot of it!

Wow! I didn't realize it's been that long since I posted anything. I've been keeping pretty busy with the boys this summer plus being sick for almost two weeks didn't help either. I'm back to normal now except the occasional neck spasm which happens when you keep your head in one position for too long and then suddenly turn to look at something...yea, that kind of spasm, ouch! I think that is still a lingering affect from the deep tissue massage I got for my birthday (a month and a half ago)....needless to say I won't be going back for anymore of those any time soon!

We are going to start a new daily download over at Digital Divas Designs starting August 1st. Normally we do a CT Collab kit and offer that as the daily freebie but decided to do something a little different this month. Each of us created a kit to give away! For the month of August you will get three full kits...just visit the forum daily to snag your link for the day. You must be registered in the forum to download.

Here is my part for the daily download...Extreme Fun. I wanted to do something that was versitile and can be used for boys or girls. You can use this kit for birthdays, a trip to the circus or amusement park....or just everyday fun in your backyard. There is an alpha included in the kit that did not make it in the preview.

Then we have "Sandy Beach" from Scrappie Irene. Some of the papers in this kit were made using actual pictures she took of the sea shore...they are awesome! Here is her preview...

Last but certainly not least we have "You Gogh Boy" inspired by a Van Gogh painting. This kit will be a must have for any masculine pages you want to create.
