Ready for a Bit O'Green?

Well my vision of a St. Patty's Day kit didn't come out exactly as I had imagined but I do like the papers so I decided to share.  Download if you like it, if you don't, my feelings won't be hurt, lol.  I know it's not the greatest but....why delete it right?  I'm glad you like the new download site.  I'm still unsure how it all works tho.  The only downside to it is I must keep the file active on my hard drive in order for it to stay on SugarSync.  That is a problem since I am still babying my old computer and I am running out of space.  I have two external hard drives; one is 500GB and the other is 1TB.  This is plenty of space but not sure I can sync from those because only turn them on long enough to move my kits to it after I'm done.  But I'll give it a try for a while and see how it goes.

Sorry it took so long to get these posted.  Life got in the way again.  I'm glad to hear the download links with SugarSync are working pretty good for everyone.  I haven't committed to it 100%, I'm still trying it out.  The interface is a little more confusing than 4Shared.  It's got potential :o)

Got Heart?

I started this kit back in early December but never really got back to it.  I simply lost my mojo on this one and what you see is what you get.  Sorry about that.  I hope to get back in the groove soon but lately I've been spending more time on my family tree.  After losing my step-mother so unexpectedly, I realized I am not getting younger, nor is the elder part of my family.  I no longer have grandparents to go to for family history information and my parents, thank GOD are still here but they can only remember so much about their heritage.  I am snatching up that information now so that someday my children will be able to look at this tree I am creating and know where their ancestors came from.  I've managed to trace our ancestors back as far as the 1600's, it's amazing! 

I have found 5 generations of Alexander's on DH's side of the family that we never knew existed.  My youngest son is Alexander, so to find this was quite fantastic.  My side of the family (both parents) came from different parts of Italy and it's very difficult because the names have changed from once they came over on the ships from the port in Naples, Italy.  I've found a drivers license for a horse drawn buggy for New York City, I believe this was a great grand uncle on my dad's side.  My mom's side has halted at her grandfather because I don't have anyone to ask beyond that and my mom hasn't had any contact with the elder part of that side of the family in years.  Soooo, that's what I've been up to lately.  I did start a kit for my family tree but it's a slow process.  I'm creating things as I need them.  I will definately share that one when it's ready.

But for now, I have "Got Heart?".  Hope you can use some or all of it.

I just wanted to say "Thank You" to everyone for all of your heartfelt thoughts and prayers for my family.  It did come as a shock to all of us because she was not ill or had any major health issues.  My dad on the other hand does have heart problems which is the first thing that came to my mind when I received that phone call.  It has been tough for him as well as my sisters but I think everyone will be ok.

Halloween Kit Freebie

Wow, I really know how to disappear don't I?  Sorry about that.  I've got so much going on it's crazy insane.  I've been tinkering around with Halloween, trying to come up with a cool theme...I wanted to do something a little different than normal but it didn't work out that way.  The papers were taking me forever so I kept closing it and starting over.  This is the end result...not quite what I had planned on but it's something.  The frames came out pretty cool tho.  The mummy was a little difficult but I think he turned out alright, not the best but it'll work.

End of Summer Freebies

I started working on these in May and never really got back to them.  I've added a few elements but there isn't much to the kits.  I hope someone can use them for something.  I've been working on my family tree for the past couple months and this has inspired me to do another heritage themed kit.  I just recently started working on that so it may be a while before I'm finished with it.  I haven't really done much for the past two months as far as design or scrapping.  There is just not enough time in my day anymore.  I hope to get back in the swing of things as the summer winds down.  Here are the last two kits I've worked on...enjoy.

Birthday Freebie

Well better late than never I suppose.  It's been a busy summer so far.  I'm still scrapping at night, it helps me wind down after a long crazy day.  I've had a few nail biter moments too.  Those of you that have read my stories at DDD know about my aunt and that she has Alzheimer's.  This disease has progressed slowly for several years (at least the past 20 years) and has now consumed her to the point that my mom could no longer care for her in her home.  We have had to put her in a nursing home where she will now get the 24 hour supervision that she requires.  The saddest part of this whole thing is that she just celebrated her 60th birthday in May.  I think I started talking about it when she was 58 and the disease had become so bad that she could no longer do the things she used to do.  We all accepted the fact that she probably wouldn't see her 59th birthday.  Now that her 60th birthday has come and gone, I am now more than ever so grateful to have her in my life.  She is so frail and wears my old (size 6) jeans and they even look too big for her.  When I go visit her I know she doesn't know my face but when I tell her "Aunt Linda, it's me Belle" she glows and has the biggest smile.  These are the memories I want to hold on to.

I've also had a scare with my dad.  He had a cardiac ablation procedure done at the beginning of June and hasn't been right since.  He has lost 45 pounds in the last month and a half, been in the hospital 3 times, visits with many doctors and today FINALLY got an answer!  It's his thyroid!  Good grief...anyway, hoping he is on his way to recovery.  In the midst of all this was my youngest son's birthday, my little sisters birthday, my birthday and my blogs 4th birthday!!!...soooo for Aunt Linda hitting the big 60, my dad making us pull our hair out because he is so stubburn, my son for being the little stinker he is, my little sister who has dropped more "f" bomb's in the last month than I care to admit and of course myself...Happy Birthday!!!  Enjoy!

Happy Independance Day & "America" Freebie
